You have several times spoken of your expences being heavy. I do not recollect what amount I left you in money & checks - but if you should be near running out let me know & I will see that the "oil cruire" does not run out, but supply you in time. I am well aware that you have heavy, & this winter extra expences, but am also sure that you never run into needless extravagance in any way and shall always be willing to endorse your accounts, without examining them "correct".

I was somewhat indisposed at the beginning of last week owing I believe to a cold or the want of sufficient exercise. By confining myself to my room a single day I however entirely recovered and am now as usual. The truth is I have more work at present than is comfortable or even good for me.
