If <personName>Bayer</personName>s case is as you state it I am really sorry for him. The <personName>Esterley</personName>s are security for what young <personName>George</personName> owes me & that is safe. I got a judgment for what the old man owed me last summer by nearly doubling the amount & I think I am safe there also; He owes <personName>Mary</personName> also 1000 or 1200 Dlls for which however old <personName>George Reim</personName> is security. This she lent him herself.

I am glad <personName>Rosa</personName> has gone to <personName>Sheafs</personName> with <personName>Kitty Heister</personName>. It would be quite pleasing to me to see harmony between the families if it be <hi>possible</hi>. I am also pleased to hear that <personName>Amelia</personName> & <personName>Kate</personName> are about returning. I cannot but be attached to your sister <personName>Kitty</personName>s children, perhaps, I must say, more on their mothers account than any other. I hope <personName>Mary</personName>s <personName>Anna</personName> is better. The illness of children always causes great uneasiness necessarily to parents.
