They are never directed, to any one; I am only surprised more do not go astray. I perceive by the <personName>Gardener</personName> <add>the office</add> is removed to the North west corner <placeName>Baltimore & North Sts</placeName> over the <placeName>Patriot Office</placeName, opposite the <placeName>Franklin Bank</placeName, & near the <placeName>Post Office</placeName>.

It looks likely for snow, and that puts me in mind, which I forgot last time to enquire, if I shall have the Ice Cellar filled, if there should be Ice, or what excuse I shall make if not? <personName>Hiester</personName> thinks we should. It rests with you. We had the D~o of the weather, a few days this week, we had several weeks ago. <personName>Mrs Bickles</personName> Honeysuckle, was putting forth leaves. Why does not <personName>Rosa</personName> write? Has she gone to <placeName>V.a</placeName> I know she promised a visit there.

You have besides the shirts at <placeName>Wash'n</placeName> six that are good, if the collars are

If you think that is not sufficient, I must have some more made. <personName>Mary</personName> says it is a folly to take so much clothing with one, as <deletion>they</deletion> <add>cloths</add> can be made as reasonable if not more so, in <placeName>Germany</placeName than here. I must rely upon <personName>Rosa</personName>, for what is wanting — She has mix'd with fashionables lately, and must know better than I, can be supposed to do, for at <placeName>Read'g</placeName> there is no need to be so particular.

Do you think your Friends will take your mission amiss. It will be a thunderstroke to them; for 'tho they might not carry you through, they will think you have deserted them. And that wretched <personName>Sentinel<personName> I fear will exult, & think he has been the means, of making you withdraw.
