I feel somewhat indisposed not inclined to write more letters than I must, & Lord knows there plenty of those, but as you will expect a line at least from the "old gentleman" I will not disappoint you. Instead of going to church as I ought to have done I am just returned from a walk of two miles which were rather uncomfortable, not on account of the cold, which is tolerably severe, but on account of the high wind & dust which fairly blinds you. I am in want of exercise having been much confined during the last two weeks & I think my walk will be of service. Our sessions, for some time past, have continued to 5 & 6 o'clock which with my Committee business &c. have confined me rather too much with my [unclear] habit & mode of life - dining at 5 & 6 o'clock is not of much service You must however not think that I am sick — It is a
