Two students pose in front of elaborate Christmas door decor, ca. 1960. The decorations depict the three wise men praying to the Star of Bethlehem, a key point in the nativity story in the Gospel of Matthew. The door decoration competition was an annual activity during Christmas time on campus throughout the 1960s and early 1970s in which the female students would decorate their dorm room doors in West Hall (now Brown Hall), and later Prosser and Walz Halls. After the doors were decorated, an open house was held for students and selected staff judges to view the artwork. Three winners were chosen based on originality, aesthetic appearance, and neatness, and prizes were awarded.
