| Now on display on Terrace A is a selection of holiday cards created by Dr. Robert L. Schaeffer, Jr.
Dr. Schaeffer was Professor of Biology at Muhlenberg College from 1954-1983. An avid botanist, Dr. Schaeffer spent many weekends traipsing the backwoods of Lehigh County, and taking class field trips to collect specimens. He helped establish an extensive herbarium at Muhlenberg and in May 1961 he published “Flora of Northampton County.” Each December friends and colleagues eagerly anticipated his handmade card illustrating his love of nature. |
