World Poetry Day Broadcast March 21 Noon

WMUH 91.7 will broadcast Trexler Library’s  UNESCO World Poetry Day celebration Monday, March 21, at Noon.

The readings of Provost John Ramsay, Dean Carol Shiner-Wilson, Dr. Alec Marsh, and others will be broadcast during the hour long program.

According to the UNESCO website the day: “is meant to support poetry, return to the oral tradition of poetry recitals, promote teaching poetry, restore a dialogue between poetry and the other arts such as theatre, dance, music, painting and so on, support small publishers and create an attractive image of poetry in the media so that the art of poetry will no longer be considered an outdated form of art but one which enables society as a whole to regain and assert
its identity.”
