E-mail Circulation Notices

Circulation notices (overdues, recalls, and InterLibrary Loan) can now be sent via e-mail.

Almost all on-campus student library users will receive these notices now, similar to “official” College e-mail from the Registrar, Financial Aid, etc.  About half of faculty and staff users can now receive e-mail notification –a technical glitch prevent the library system from knowing some faculty and staff e-mail addresses will be fixed by October, and then all such users will receive e-mail notification rather than paper notices.

Off-campus users, including town and clergy users, can also receive e-mail notification if they give Circulation staff their e-mail addresses.  In no case will those addresses be shared with any other organization, per the privacy requirements of Commonwealth library law.  On the other hand, such users will be responsible for checking for such e-mail, since paper copy will not be forthcoming.
