New Library Books Purchased in Fall of 2008

Several faculty and staff have asked to see a list of new library books. Here is a list of books purchased in Fall 2008, across all disciplines, arranged by Dewey call number. There are some great titles here. Thanks to all departments that helped us in selecting these materials.

Infomaniac Tip of the Week

Having trouble keeping up with keeping up?

Blog and news reading got you down? With so much information online, it can be hard to stay current. Rather than individually checking each blog or news site for new content, try using a feed reader to help manage your favorite sites.

A feed reader (or feed aggregator) allows you to get updates about new content in a single spot for easy access. Without having to go to each individual site, you can quickly check for new content. Once you add feeds of syndicated web content (e.g., blogs, news headlines, podcasts, etc.) to your reader, it will automatically check those sites to which you have subscribed and will pull in new content whenever it’s available. Read new content in the reader or link directly to the original site.

Popular web-based readers include: Google Reader (http://www.google.com/reader), Bloglines (http://www.bloglines.com/), and Netvibes (http://www.netvibes.com/). Check the above sites for brief tours of how they work.
