Recent Developments
Grant Awarded for Book Discussion Series
After running a successful book discussion group in the fall led by Jim Bloom, Trexler Library received a second grant to continue a book discussion series on themes in 20th century Jewish literature, awarded by Nextbook and the American Library Association. Hartley Lachter will lead the fall 2008 discussions, and Sharon Albert will lead the spring 2009 discussions. Watch for an email announcement in July about signing up for one or both discussion series.
More Laptop Computers Added to the Collection
Thanks to Wendy Cole and Academic Support for donating 5 new laptop computers to the library’s circulating collection, available to anyone in the Muhlenberg community to check out and use on the premises. This brings the total number of circulating laptops to 9.
Infomaniac Tip of the Week
The Beauty of a “Creative Commons” License
Consider using a Creative Commons License in place of a traditional copyright notice when publishing on the web. How is a Creative Commons License different from copyright? A) It allows for nonprofit use of your work without the user needing to ask your permission. This is good because it gets your work out there. B) It mandates that the user always credit you as the author. This is good because it gets your name out there.
