New Library System Up and Running

As of June 11, the new integrated library system (ILS) is up and running, managing many aspects of the library, from purchasing to licensing to cataloging to circulation. The new system is expected to far outpace the old system/catalog.
What does this change mean for library users?

Also as of June 11, Encompass Search, the discovery tool of the new ILS, supplants the old catalog, becoming the library’s new catalog of record. Encompass Search provides users with:
  • access to the library collection, including an additional 100,000+ ebooks and streaming video titles (not found in the old catalog)
  • thousands of articles from multiple databases
  • access to other libraries’ collections with links to interlibrary loan
The interface is optimized for use on mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.

PLEASE NOTE: The old library catalog will be fully retired on June 30, 2015. For the period June 11 – June 30, library patrons may continue to search the old catalog if they wish, but should confirm whether an item is checked in or checked out in Encompass Search.
