Security Studies Collection

The JSTOR Security Studies collection gathers academic journals and policy research reports on international and national security problems and foreign policy issues from a global perspective.

Springer eBook Package – 2019 Publications

The library was again able to purchase the current year’s ebooks published by Springer. All ebooks are findable and accessible through Encompass Search. Please note that some ebooks have not been published yet. They will be added to Encompass Search as they are made available.

These heavily used ebooks combine quality content with an unlimited user level and no DRM restrictions. In addition, with many of the Springer ebooks, you have the option to purchase a MyCopy personal print copy for $24.99 (black & white softcover only). Look for “MyCopy softcover” on the ebook’s home page.

How to access: To access the 2019 Springer titles currently available, view this list in Encompass Search: Springer 2019 published titles . Alternatively you can search within Encompass by title, author, subject or your preferred search terms.

Gender: Identity and Social Change Collection

Built from the archives of several major libraries across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Australia, this collection documents three centuries of developments in gender roles and relations starting in the 19th and continuing into the 21st century. Primary sources support study of different areas: gender history, suffrage, the feminist movement, the men’s movement, employment and labor, education, government and legislation, the body, sex and sexuality, domesticity and the family, and more.

History of Feminism

This resource brings together scholarship from Taylor & Francis that covers feminism in depth from 1776-1928 using a range of primary and secondary resources. Through books, journal articles, images, new thematic essays and subject introductions, the topics covered include politics, religion, education, literature, home life, society, movements, ideologies, and empires. Annual Reviews Archive (1932-2013)

Each year, Annual Reviews publishes articles that synthesize recent research on topics of current interest. Until now, the library’s online subscriptions only covered 16 major subject areas from the current year back to 1996. Over half of the articles read were from earlier than 2014. Now we are providing access to all subject areas for articles published 1932-2013. (We will continue our subscription to current years in the 16 subject areas.)

New England Journal of Medicine Archive (1812-1989)

NEJM provides high quality, peer-reviewed research and interactive clinical content to the global medical community and beyond. Last year Trexler Library users downloaded 842 articles. The addition of this archive will provide full access to all articles in the journal back to volume 1.

Rand Daily Mail (1902-1985)

The Rand Daily Mail was a key daily newspaper published in Johannesburg, South Africa with influential reporting from the Boer Wars through the era of their open opposition to apartheid. Fully searchable, this digital edition includes every page of every issue. The stories reveal a wealth of unique perspectives on South Africa and the African continent. SAGE Journals Online Archive (expansion)

The library first purchased the Sage Journals Online Deep Backfile archive in 2013. Since that time Sage has acquired publishing rights to an additional 174 titles. This new purchase brings us up to date on the full archive of over 500 titles. We already had access to current issues of Sage Journals, and now you will be able to read current and older articles.
